Miller Takes Points at Silverstone with Special 75th Anniversary Livery

Silverstone, United Kingdom – Red Bull KTM Factory Racing entered the second half of the MotoGP 2024 calendar at Silverstone where the team and Mobil 1 honoured the competition’s 75th anniversary with a special retro livery.

Jack Miller managed to finish in the points at the U.K.’s home of motor racing meanwhile his teammate Brad Binder was forced out with a clutch issue.

Sunday was cool and cloudy, but dry for the 20-lap British Grand Prix following Saturday’s Sprint Race which Binder and Miller grabbed 4th and 7th placed finishes respectively.

Starting 6th, Binder immediately felt a technical issue with his RC16 and tried to return to the pits to swap bikes but was unable to complete the lap. Meanwhile Miller started his race from 11th on the grid and was determined to manage his tyres to go the full 118km distance.

Miller did his best to trouble and stay with the top ten but ultimately came home in 12th picking up 4 championship points for himself and the team. The Australian currently sits 16th in the Championship table while Brad occupies 7th.

Following a disappointing early finish to his race, Brad Binder said “Unfortunately, I had a small clutch issue and could not get away from the line. I tried to get back to the pits to change bikes but had to park it. This morning we’d made some changes to the bike and it was the fastest I’d been all weekend on the medium tire.

“We know it would have been a hard race all the way to the end but we’d been fastest in warm-up, so that’s something at least. My crew are working so hard, and we tried something different for today. We’ll have to try again in Austria.”

Finishing in the points, Jack Miller said: “I was trying to get the rear tire to work and was cycling through the maps I had. It was tricky to get the bike to stop: a weird one, maybe because of the lower temperatures.

“Some points on the board anyway, and some info in the books so hopefully we’ll keep getting better. We’re trying our best every weekend and we have really strong points and I hope we can take advantage of them in Austria.”

MotoGP will pause a week and then return for the team’s home race at the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg Austria on the 18th of August.
