'; ?> BEST F1 OVERTAKE EVER?

A classic overtaking move from Mika Hakkinen on Ferrari’s Michael Schumacher steals the show at Spa. Hakkinen starts from pole and builds a lead, but the German hunts him down and takes over at the front when Hakkinen uncharacteristically spins off a drying track on Lap 12.

With a new set of dry tires, Hakkinen is quicker than Schumacher and the hunter becomes the hunted. With just four laps to go, he makes his move but the German forces him onto the grass at high speed.

Some drivers might have backed off and settled for second place, but not Hakkinen. On the next lap, the two frontrunners set their sights on backmarker Ricardo Zonta. Schumacher goes around the Italian on the outside and Hakkinen takes the inside.

Hakkinen squeezes every drop of power from his MP4-15 and edges ahead of the Ferrari, making the move stick at the following corner. It is an overtaking manoeuvre worthy of winning any Grand Prix, and Hakkinen duly takes the checkered flag.
