'; ?> HAKKINEN WAY OUT IN FRONT

Reigning F1™ champion Mika Hakkinen’s win at the Hungaroring gives him the lead in the drivers’ championship by two points over Michael Schumacher.

A perfect start from the second row of the grid gets the Finnish driver past his title rival’s Ferrari and his team-mate David Coulthard after the first corner.

Hakkinen streaks away into the distance and cannot be caught, establishing a lead of almost 20 seconds by the halfway point. Meanwhile, Coulthard remains frustratingly wedged behind Schumacher and has to settle for third place.
