'; ?> HAMILTON HANDLES BRITISH SUMMER

A first win on home soil for Lewis Hamilton, in a race affected by typically British summer weather.

Hamilton makes a quick start from fourth on the grid, passing Kimi Raikkonen and Mark Webber from the line and team-mate Heikki Kovalainen a few laps later to take the lead. But as the rain begins to come down, Ferrari leave Raikkonen on intermediate tires, costing the Finn eight seconds a lap.

As conditions worsen, drivers on extreme wets gain the most and Hamilton extends his lead to over a minute and coasts to the win. The result leaves a three-way tie in the championship, with Hamilton, Massa and Raikkonen all on 48 points.
