'; ?> RAIKKONEN CONTROLS RACE PACE

Kimi Raikkonen takes McLaren Mercedes' first, and only, victory of the season despite colliding with Ferrari’s Felipe Massa at the start.

Raikkonen suffers damage to the floor of his car, but is able to pass Michael Schumacher and David Coulthard to move into third place by lap 6, and he takes the lead when Fernando Alonso spins out with an engine problem.

Raikkonen pulls out a 13-second lead over Schumacher, before the safety car is called out twice in quick succession.

The Finn slows down the field to cool their tires before making a break from Schumacher.

He repeats the trick after Coulthard and Christian Klein collide near the end, but again it works and he crosses the line ahead of Schumacher, whose second place is enough to secure his seventh world title.
